On Saturday, December 2nd, the final game of the Veres Business League took place! This year, the tournament was held for the first time. Twelve teams participated in the competition, representing companies, organizations, government institutions, and enterprises of Rivne. Among the participants of the inaugural VBL was the RENOME team.
«The overall level of organization for the Veres Business League was fundamentally new from the start. Rivne hadn’t seen a tournament of this nature for many years.
For several years, we’ve been playing together with colleagues in the sports hall. We’ve never trained or played in the format of full-scale football before. Even though it was supposed to be a championship among amateurs, in the end, most teams consisted almost entirely of professional players, offering each member of our team the chance to test themselves against these pros. And from this tournament, each player grew immensely as a footballer—that’s the key takeaway,» shared Taras Antoniuk, the coach and central defender of the RENOME team.
The competition kicked off in August and lasted for four months. The primary goal of the Veres Business League was to promote amateur football in the region and foster community spirit during challenging times.
