About the client

QNB is the national bank of Qatar and the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa region.

Implemented solution

Doha International Airport serves about 12 million passengers annually. Therefore, it is important that the airport offers convenient payment methods for people from all over the world. On the other hand, duty free retailers, working in three shifts, must have a convenient way to process large volumes of revenue and store it until the arrival of the CIT. The National Bank of Qatar QNB, together with its partner Gravoprint, initiated a project that would solve these problems.

Our team joined as a technology partner and offered a solution that includes high-capacity deposit safes and special software that automates many processes: from retailer identification to instant crediting of funds to their account.

Speed
Our software complex identifies cashiers using an RFID card. Thanks to this, the device “understands” which retailer wants to carry out the operation and displays its stores and accounts. The staff does not need to enter any additional data, which is not only convenient, but also saves time and minimizes errors. All the necessary reporting is also available, and the funds are deposited into the retailer’s account within 1 minute.

Volume and security
Automating work with large amounts of cash and securely storing it until the collectors arrive is an easy task for our deposit device. Its capacity is designed for 30,000 banknotes, which can be entered in bundles of up to 400 units. The device accepts and verifies about 1,200 banknotes per minute.

Multi-currency
Automated deposit machines ES 3003 from RENOME SMART accept cash from retail outlets in 13 currencies (Australian dollars, Bahraini dinars, Canadian dollars, Iranian rupees, Kuwaiti dinars, Omani rials, Saudi rials, dirhams, pounds sterling, US dollars, euros, Swiss francs, Qatari riyals).

Thanks to Gieseke & Devrient – our German banknote acceptor supplier, the solution works not only with denominations of 1, 2, 10, 20, 100, but also with such as, for example, half a Bahraini dinar or 0.1 Omani rial.

How it works

The daily turnover is given centrally to the duty free cashier, the cashier deposits it in the ADM, placing the funds in the bill acceptor, the ADM performs the recalculation, credits the funds to the retailer’s bank account and generates the necessary reporting.
